With the arrival of spring, progress continues for our community’s largest-ever public-private healthcare project.
In recent weeks, the NYS Department of Health has granted the formal Certificate of Need–a crucial step–and Oneida County and City of Utica governments resolved and announced the question of eminent domain, should that step become necessary.
Nearly a third of property owners within the project footprint have come to terms with Mohawk Valley Health System. Most of the others are negotiating. A full-time project coordinator/community liaison has begun work, reaching out to property owners to connect them with relocation possibilities and see how their needs might be met.
And there is so much more to come. Stay tuned.
